Today we worked on a few more science experiments! We are learning about what happens when we mix different types of liquids and solids.
We made ornaments using three simple ingredients: salt (1/2 cup), flour (1 cup) and water (1/2cup).
Feel free to try it at home!
We also mixed borax with hot water and dipped in our snowflakes made out of pipe cleaners. We're excited to see what happens tomorrow morning!

Making Words
Today we worked on one of our favourite language activities called "Making Words". Students work in groups and have a set of letters they need to re-arrange in order to find the mystery word. While trying to identify the mystery word, students are encouraged to build mini or smaller words using the letters provided.
We found over 70 words today, using only the letters from our mystery compound word DOWNSTAIRS. Wow!! Amazing work team!!
Math Questions:
How many students voted?
How many students chose the pepsi and soccer ball?
What was the most popular choice?
What was the least popular choice?
If our school had to order more outdoor toys for next year, which choices would we recommend to our principal? (Does this graph give us enough information or would we need to ask other classes in the school?)

In Math!
Today we created a bar graph based on data collected by students. Our survey question was:
"What is your favourite outdoor toy?" (Toys provided for each class during recess)

Hanukkah
Today one of our community members shared the importance of Hanukkah, which she celebrates with her family. She brought in a dreidel and menorah, and shared the significance of each. :) If your child has a special celebration or tradition they would like to share with the class, they may bring photos, symbols or any items to show their classmates during our community meetings.
